PH2 will partner with Australia’s first hydrogen vehicle manufacturer H2X, which PH2 recently bought.
Over their 7-year supply term, HFCV trucks are exceptionally low-cost and provide considerable savings in fuel.
Compared to the standard internal combustion engine, hydrogen fuel cells are approximately twice as efficient.
Based on existing diesel gliders, the HFCV trucks’ diesel components will be removed, and H2X’s own fuel cell powertrains will be used instead.
PH2 Managing Director Scott Brown said the company was “excited” to work with AKM Earth.
“We believe this will be an excellent example of how we can bring zero emission commercial vehicles to market,” Brown said.
“Paving the way as a local business to set the standard in reducing emissions across their core business.”
The HFCV trucks, which will initially be delivered under the Pure X brand, will also be constructed in Australia.
AKM Earth provides environmental management services across Southeast Queensland, focusing mainly on the recycling and recovery of construction and demolition waste streams.
Pure Hydrogen provides energy solutions for hydrogen and clean energy.
