Strike completed the 12-¼ inch surface hole down to 1,116 m and cemented the 9-â ? inch casing.
Preparations are underway to run the pressurised coring campaign, which will be followed by the 7 inch casing being run in-hole in readiness for its intercept by the Jaws-1 horizontal well later in the campaign.
The Jaws-1 project wells are being drilled by Halliburton in collaboration with Ensign using the 965 rig.
The vertical well is the first of a two well appraisal campaign designed to prove commercial flow rates of gas and assess the quality of Strike’s Southern Cooper Basin Gas Project.
The Jaws-1 project drilling campaign is planned to be complete in April 2018, ready for fracture stimulation.
Strike holds a 66.67 per cent operators stake in PEL 96, with Energy World Corporation holding the remaining 33.33 per cent.
