Company news: Oil, Gas and Energy Resources Growth Centre, IWCF

Mr Fitzpatrick has previously held a number of directorships and has been involved in industry-related roles including as the Western Australian Chairman of APPEA.

Mr Fitzpatrick replaces Mr Reg Nelson, who is no longer available to take up the role due to work and personal commitments.

The International Well Control Forum (IWCF), the independent organisation that sets international well control standards, is set to open a new office in Brisbane.

The not-for-profit organisation will be appointing a Brisbane-based Regional Manager for Australasia who will be responsible for managing and administering test sessions as well as supporting the centres with their day-to-day activities.

“Some of the world’s largest oil and gas megaprojects are based in Australia, including Ichthys and the Gorgon joint venture project,” IWCF Chief Executive Officer David Price said.

“Such large-scale projects demonstrate the need for a continued focus on well training and accreditation to ensure the safety of oil and gas personnel.”
