APLNG JV considering pipeline sale

The Australian Financial Review reports that the joint venture is currently in discussions with a number of investment banks, with JPMorgan viewed as a strong contender should any talk of a sale progress.

The 530 km, 900-1,050 mm gas transmission pipeline connects Queensland’s Surat and Bowen basins to the APLNG Project’s processing facilities at Curtis Island, with a capacity of 1,560 TJ/d.

Origin and ConocoPhillips each hold a 37.5 per cent interest in the project, which is due to commence production in mid-2015, with Sinopec holding the remaining 25 per cent.

The move would follow a similar sale of BG Group’s Queensland Curtis LNG (QCLNG) Project pipeline to APA Group in December 2014.
