Under the terms of the deal, Ensco Australia will provide the Ensco 107 jack-up drilling rig to Jadestone after the competition of its current operation in Dampier, WA. Jadestone will drill the Stag-49H well from the Stag wellhead platform in a move Jadestone President and CEO Paul Blakeley said was a significant step forward. “I am pleased to have signed the rig contract with Ensco to drill Stag-49H, the first infill well at the Stag field since 2013, and an important milestone for the company too,” he said. The well will target approximately 1.2 MMbbl of incremental oil reserves from the field. Drilling operations are expected to take approximately 34 days, with Jadestone intending to spud the well in early March 2019. As of the end of 2017, the Stag field had 2P reserves of 17.1 MMbbl and 3P reserves of 22.7 MMbbl. Jadestone is planning to drill two new wells in both 2019 and 2020.
