An Independent Non-Executive Director, Mr Harding took over the position yesterday at the conclusion of the company’s Annual General Meeting. Mr Harding replaces John Humphrey who retired after three years in the role. On his last day as chairman, Mr Humphrey said his time at Horizon had been rewarding. “During my association with the company, I have witnessed and, of course, been closely involved in, its transformation from a junior explorer to a company with material oil production in China and New Zealand, with substantial development opportunities ahead in China and, significantly, Papua New Guinea,” he said. “While the company’s growth and performance can be objectively assessed and measured, I’d like to acknowledge the growth and performance of Horizon Oil’s personnel, particularly in recent years.” Mr Harding has held management positions with British Petroleum associated with gas strategy, business performance, human resource management and governance in the Asia Pacific region. He is a former Chairman of ROC Oil, Clough and ARC Energy, and a former Non-Executive Director of Santos. For more information visit the Horizon Oil website.
